Masks Are Now Mandatory At Church
Please note that in accordance with recent expansions to Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health Order 22, places of worship will no longer be exempt from mandatory mask wearing.
Effective 12:01am on Friday, September 18, masks must be worn in churches and other places of worship in Guelph, and this includes the Basilica of Our Lady.
Please be aware that admittance to the Basilica will be denied to anyone not complying with this order, unless there is an exemption for health reasons. We will have masks available for those who may have forgotten to bring a mask.
All parishioners and visitors will be expected to wear a mask while in the Basilica and your mask may be lowered or removed only while you receive Holy Communion.
Lectors and Cantors may remove their mask while they are performing their ministry.
The Priest will wear a mask while distributing Holy Communion, or in close proximity to any parishioner or visitor.
Thank you very much for your cooperation in this regard, and let’s all pray for a swift end to this pandemic.
With kindest regards,
Fr. Ian Duffy, Rector
