All of our other traditions revolve around this central Christmas celebration. They prepare or lead us to the Christmas Mass and they flow from our celebration of the Christmas Mass. At this moment in time we are facing a number of significant challenges which should not hinder our Catholic Christmas traditions. Changing cultural patters, pastoral circumstance, the diversity of the Christmas assembly and a renewed awareness of the requirements of good liturgical celebrations, invite us to consider ways of maintaining our tradition of keeping the Eucharist at the heart of our Christmas celebrations.
