The Eucharist is a drama in three acts through which we share in God’s life and are touched by God’s happiness. In the first act – FAITH – we grow in faith so that we are able to proclaim the Creed and ask for what we need. In the second act we are led to – HOPE – in the preparation of the gifts to the end of the Eucharistic prayer. Christ gives us His body, where we are given Hope in repeating Christ’s own prayer. In the final act from the Our Father onwards, our Hope culminates in – LOVE - . In our preparation for Communion we encounter the Risen Christ and His victory over death and hatred, and receive the Bread of Life. We as a people are sent on our way to “go and glorify the Lord by our life” as a sign of God’s love for the world. Through our Eucharistic experience God is giving us the grace to grow in Faith, Hope and Love. The Eucharist is the drama of our whole life – from birth to death and beyond. It reshapes our hearts and minds and is the sacrament of our joy, freedom and hope.
