Catholics throughout the world are invited to give thanks for those men and women who live their baptismal commitment by professing the evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity and obedience. We pray for those who have dedicated their lives to God through these vows, especially those who are living and serving within our Diocese of Hamilton. We also pray for the many men and women from our Diocese who are currently in formation with various religious communities. For vocational information see our Diocesan Vocation website www.vocationinfo.ca.
What is Jesus saying about Vocations?
* I have called you friends. You did not choose me but I chose you and I appointed you to go and bear fruit (John 15:15-16).
* The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few, therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into His harvest (Matthew 9:37).
* If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross and follow Me. For those who want to save their life will lose it, and those who lose life for my sake will find it (Matthew 16:24-25 ).
* Put out into the deep water and let down your nets for a catch (Luke 5:4).
