Use of the Parish Hall and Meeting Rooms at the Basilica
Dear Parishioners,
Effective immediately and until further notice, the following guidelines and protocols will apply for use of the Parish Hall and Meeting Rooms:
1. Only the Main Parish Hall and the Music Annex are available for use. The Newstead Room, the Crypt Chapel and the Lourdes Room (basement meeting room in the Parish Office) remain closed until further notice.
2. Use of the Parish Kitchen is reserved to those providing care for the Homeless and for the Vinny’s Kitchen Ministry. No other group using the Hall may use the Kitchen.
3. Only the Universal Washroom in the Parish Hall is available for use. Other washrooms will remain locked until further notice.
4. The Parish Hall is limited to a capacity of 30 people. The Music Annex is limited to 14 people.
5. Social Distancing must be strictly observed by all in attendance.
6. Hand Sanitizing, and sanitizing of the space after use must be observed.
7. Masks must be worn by all in attendance at all times while in the Parish Hall or Music Annex.
8. Contact Tracing must be done by the person in charge of the meeting, and submitted to Susan at the Parish Office on the next business day.
9. No food or drink is to be served, brought to, or consumed during meetings in the Parish Hall or Music Annex.
10. In accordance with recent Diocesan Guidelines everyone attending a meeting or event in the Parish Hall or Music Annex must provide proof of full vaccination. It is the responsibility of the person in charge of the meeting to ensure that proof of vaccination is provided.
11. Other than Diocesan organizations, and the Scouts, with whom we have a long standing relationship, no other group or organization from outside the parish will be permitted to use parish facilities for the time being, except in emergency circumstances.
12. It is strongly recommended that Groups, Committees and Ministries continue to meet online for the time being.
I thank you for your attention to these unfortunate guidelines, and I join you in praying that we will soon see the end of the Covid pandemic and will be able to return to a more vibrant, and in-person, parish life.
I remain yours in Christ,
Fr. Ian Duffy, Rector, The Basilica of Our Lady Immaculate
