Message from Father Ian Duffy - Good Afternoon Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Today is the Feast of the Annunciation of our Lord, the Patronal Feast of the Diocese of Hamilton. As I offered Mass in my home this morning I remembered all of you, your loved ones, and your intentions. I hope and pray that you are all well and safe.
Some of you may be aware that I am now in self isolation, as I may have come into contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid 19. I was tested on Sunday but do not have any results yet. Please be assured that I am still praying for you and offering Mass for you each day. Additionally we just received word from the Diocese yesterday that all parish offices are to be closed for the foreseeable future. Also Bishop Crosby, like most other bishops, has cancelled the public celebration of Holy Week and Easter. This is a hard blow, but necessary for the containment of the spread of this virus.
When I am out of isolation I will arrange for live steaming of some of the liturgies of Holy Week, especially Easter Sunday.
Let us pray for one another, and especially for those on the front lines of the fight against Covid 19. I hope and pray that we will all be together again soon to give praise to God!
With assurances of my prayers and best wishes,
I am yours in Christ,
Fr. Ian
