Do you know the date of your Baptism? It was the most important day of your life! Person, relationship, unity, these are my life and how I am called to live. I need to relate to other persons in a real, loving, constructive way which will also help me grow in my moral and spiritual life. As Catholics, we are children of God. We are initiated into the Passover mystery of Jesus. We pass over from darkness into the light, from death to life, from slavery to freedom. In Jesus we are called to freedom. St. Paul wrote, “For you were called to freedom. But do not use this freedom as an opportunity for the flesh; serve one another through love. For the whole law is fulfilled in one statement, namely, you shall love your neighbour as yourself.” (Gal.5:13-14). Freedom is often viewed as a license to do whatever you feel like. As a Catholic, one is called to become free in order to love, so I can give myself in loving service to others, so I can love unselfishly. I am not born free but rather born with the capacity to become free. It takes grace and a lot of hard work to become a mature person so that I can love as Jesus does.
